In recent years, Spanish cities and municipalities have been making a strong commitment to a change in energy model, consisting of replacing existing municipal lighting with lighting with LED technology .
A good example of this is Valencia City Council, which over the last two years has been replacing its public lighting in order to benefit from the advantages of this technology. In this sense, the city has developed an action plan focused on both the replacement of public lighting and the change of lighting in administrative buildings and schools by LED lighting .
Specifically, the consistory has replaced a total of 8,849 luminaires, thereby reducing the city’s energy consumption by 17% in the last two years. In economic figures, this figure has materialised in savings of 3.3 million euros, of which 2.3 million come from changing street lighting.

Specifically, LED technology is fundamentally based on a high Chromatic Reproduction Index (CRI) that allows a better perception of the real colours of objects and a greater visibility of road elements.
