LED Strips
Not all LED Strips are the same. There are very significant differences in the quality of the chips, resistors and coatings, this affects their price, quality and durability of the LED Strip.
LED strips allow for multiple applications by combining high effi ciency as light sources with an attractive ornamental character. They are probably the most versatile LED lighting product, being small in size, flexible and can be cut to size, they cover a wide range of possibilities. Among its innumerable uses include: lighting / decoration of false ceilings, interiors of vehicles and boats, furniture and kitchen furniture as well as terraces and gardens. Las tiras de LEDs permiten múltiples aplicaciones ya que son eficientes como fuentes de iluminación y tienen un atractivo carácter ornamental.
At Goodwork we are manufacturers of LEDs so we invest time and effort in research and development of products with a high visual comfort index and highly efficient.
With the new LED strips from Goodwork we achieve savings in consumption of up to 80%, and a wide range of possibilities, as they are quick and easy to install. They allow for an infinite number of applications: energy saving programs, architectural and decorative lighting, lighting of transit areas and emergency exits, etc.
Important Features of LED Strips:
1- PCB or Printed Circuit
EThe printed circuit board connects each LED chip and supplies them with power. Since the circuit is made of copper and is one of the most expensive elements in the strip, savings are made by reducing the amount of copper used. This results in poor heat dissipation and, as a result, the LED strips fail much sooner.
Strips with thicker circuits will be much more durable. Better quality LEDs dissipate heat more efficiently and the strips do not bend as easily. At Goodwork we have LED strips with a PCB from 5mm to 30mm.
2 – RESISTORS
There are LED strips that are equipped with small resistors and this additionally charges the chips. Consequently, their life span is shortened. Goodwork LED strips are equipped with the appropriate resistors, which results in a strip with a long service life and excellent light output.
3 – REVESTIMENT
Over time, LED strips can develop cracks along their brittle coating. Apart from the fact that the aesthetic appearance of the strip is worsened, this creates a health and safety problem as there are exposed parts, and the noxious smell of the plastic can be noticed during operation. Goodwork LED strips have a stable and odourless revestiment and have different IP ratings: IP20, IP65, IP67 and IP68.
Things to keep in mind:
1. TYPES OF CHIP
The difference between the different types of LED strips is the chips that are integrated into them:
SMD 5050 – Size: 5x5mm. High luminosity and one of its advantages is that they can be multi-core. For larger area lighting, signage and RGB and RGBW applications.
SMD 2835 – Size: 2,8×3,5mm. Its High and cassia, greater stability and very good dissipation of the heat, which increases its useful life.
SMD 3527 – Size: 3,5×2,7mm. Less and less used, replaced by 2835. Used in some models of Multikelvin strips..
SMD 5730 – Size: 5,7x3mm. It is the most current, despite being smaller it provides lighter than 5050 and has a lower consumption. At the back there is a heat sink, which extends the life of the LEDs.
2. DEGRESS OF PROTECTION IP
They can have IP protection against mechanical damage or the action of the elements (particles and water) that can be chosen according to the environment where they are to be applied.
IP20 – Without protection. It cannot get wet, nor install in damp, dusty or corrosive places. Its advantages are greater brightness and longer life.
IP54-SI – It has a layer of silicone that covers the LEDs. It may receive water impacts, but cannot be submerged. NOT SUITABLE for 5 mm strips, nor 20 mm or more.
IP65-ST – With square silicone tube on both sides. You can dive for a moment, but not permanently. SUITABLE for all strips.
IP65-HT – With thermo-shrink tubing on both sides. Greater control over color in waterproof strips. NOT SUITABLE for strips 15 / 20 mm or more.
IP67- Hollow integrated silicone glue. They can be submerged. Suitable for fountains, swimming pools and aquariums. NOT SUITABLE for strips of 20 mm or more.
IP68 – Strip embedded in a solid silicone tube. They can be submerged. Suitable for fountains, swimming pools and aquariums. NOT SUITABLE for strips of 20 mm or more.
3. COLOR
MONOCOLOR – They reproduce a single color of light: warm light, natural light, cold light, yellow, red green or blue
RGB – Capable of emitting different colors of light combining effects and power.
4. No. of LEDs
The higher the number of LEDs per meter, the greater the luminosity and homogeneity we obtain. A strip of LEDs with chips that are too far apart will not only affect the luminance, but also cause unpleasant and unsightly light cones. Goodwork LED strips have from 30 LEDs/m to 420 LEDs/m. The lack of “natural” brightness in cheaper LED strips is often artificially increased by higher amperage. This has a negative effect on the life of the LEDs.
Main advantages of Goodwork LED Strips:
EASY AND COMFORTABLE INSTALLATION WITHOUT WASTE
Knowing how to install the LED strips is not complicated. These are adhesive LED strips with a powerful 3M adhesive. They adapt to any surface. They adapt to any height, width and length. They are connected directly to the electrical network by means of a transformer. The LED strips can generally operate at 12V or 24V DC. Controllers are needed to regulate the color tones and modes in the RGB LED strips and through the dimmer option the intensity of both mono-color and RGB strips is controlled. They can be fixed or remote controlled with a remote control. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, depending on their IP protection rating.
SAVING MONEY AND ENERGY
With the LED strips you will save up to 80% energy compared to traditional lighting, which will be transmitted directly in a lowering of your electricity bill. This technology allows you to use practically all the energy consumed in the creation of light and not heat, like classic lighting, so its efficiency is more than proven.
CUSTOMISED PROJECTS
At Goodwork we are able to manufacture the LED strips with the exact measurements according to the requirements and needs of each project. The uses of the LED strips are becoming more and more numerous, due to their decorative effect, their low consumption and their great versatility.
At Goodwork we also have a wide range of profiles for LED strips. An LED strip profile consists of a piece of aluminium or DMF in whose interior we can install our flexible LED strip and cover it with a diffuser, this can be transparent or translucent. The use of profiles protects the strip and extends its life.
