The project for the offices of the Deanery of HES-SO (University of Applied Arts and Sciences of Western Switzerland) in Lausanne, Switzerland, was developed by Studio Banana, and Goodwork took care of the lighting.http://studiobanana.com/
The aim was to create a horizontal workspace that breaks with the silos, and gives rise to open workspaces. It is about improving the way people collaborate, private offices are renounced, spaces are not defined by who uses them, but by the activity or type of interaction that is needed. They are activity-based environments.
The design of the ceilings required linear surface luminaires that emitted direct and indirect light. The amount of bounced light and direct light had to be balanced; the work space had to be functional and pleasant. It is common for these luminaires to be suspended. To achieve this, an existing luminaire was used as a starting point and the necessary elements were added and modified. Goodwork made a custom development of the project specifications and got the solution that the client needed.
