You shoud know that all light of lampposts emitted above the horizon produces halo or glare on populations and is illuminated dust particles or water the air contains in suspension. When there are clouds, this base is illuminated.
We consider light pollution to all light that leaks out of the area we want to illuminate, that is, all wasted light energy directly or indirectly has adverse effects on the environment.
CAUSES OF LIGHT POLLUTION
- Use of lights (lamps, projectors and spotlights, etc.) that due to poor lighting design or an inappropiate placement, large part of lumen leaks outside the area that needs to be illuminated.
- Excessive lighting also produces significant and unnecessary loss of light by reflection from the ground and other objects.
- An over-lit area.
- Lack of sensitivity of people, lack of own rational criteria’s, imitation of other populations with pollutant lighting, or just aesthetic criteria’s, forgetting the main function of lighting / illumination.
